Measuring, cutting, sewing

In school when I learned how to sew, I hated to do the prep work. I thought it was a bit waste of time. I thought that I could just wing it.
Pull some here, add something there, cut bit here.

I didn't like to pin the pieces together either. Well, what for, I was just using my fingers, wasn't that good enough? Sewing on free hand, with out drawing out there decorative stitches should be. Often resulting in needing to redo it more then once.

The teacher I had was always talking about this, that winging it could maybe work for small things, but for bigger things it wouldn't work.
The result would be crooked, and weird looking. I just kind of didn't listen.

It did continue for long long long time, so today I am glad that the understanding of it is with me today.

If you don't like the prep work, well that it often the biggest part of the work. Sewing is just a bit of it. So If you don't like it, maybe you should find something else to do...
